About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer for Network Security Engineering
In This Role, You Will
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
16+ years of Engineering experience in Network Security, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Must be comfortable writing for design and architecture
Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Fortinet Firewall and Check Points covering IPS, de-encryption and firewall management
Experience with Internet Proxy working with Broadcom and Zscaler solution
Experience with public cloud designing network security component like virtual FW in Azure and Google
Experience/familiarity with network segmentation application like Illumio
Experience/familiarity with remote access solution like Pulse and Global Protect
Experience/familiarity with Akamai security solutions
Experienced/familiarity with modern Data Center networking constructs. Ex: leaf-spine networks, BGP, VLANs, VXLAN, and BGP EVPN
Experience/familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, and Puppet.
Experience/familiarity with VMware – NSX and segmentation within NSX
Experience/familiarity with Python, Python packages and object-oriented programming
Strong technical writing and presentation skills

5 + years of technical design experience
5+ years of network security design
5+ years of experience working in a large enterprise network organization
2+ years of public cloud designing network security component like virtual FW in Azure and Google
Strong leadership skills
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Extensive technical writing skills and presentation skills
Knowledge and understanding of end to end network architecture and protocols
Ability to research, design, implement, and test industry best practices
Ability to define business requirements and align to technology direction
Ability to translate complex technical needs into straightforward requests for information and collaboration, working with a wide range of people
Knowledge and understanding of network device security and hardening best practices
Knowledge and understanding of network engineering design at the enterprise level
Strong understanding of network perimeter design and DC Fabric concepts
Ability to train and lead others
Ability to present technical concepts to senior leaders
Ability to align technology direction to business terminology
